For nearly 25 years, John Musella has been at the forefront of the building industry helping to entitle more than 50,000 new homes and more than 30 million square feet of commercial space across greater Los Angeles, including the master planned communities of Playa Vista, Valencia, Newhall Ranch and Centennial at Tejon Ranch.

Musella is a Los Angeles-based public affairs executive with a quarter century of experience in providing strategic communications, government relations, community relations and CSR counsel for Fortune 500 companies, startups and associations.
​
His firm, with a dozen years in business, has managed high-profile client regulatory and reputation issues with an emphasis in the land use industry, which has resulted in the certation of more than 40,000 new jobs and an equivalent number of construction jobs.
​
Musella also provides strategic political and communications counsel to C-level executives, developing client’s policy and advocacy agendas, and serving as the lead advocate representing clients before legislative and regulatory agencies.
​
“I have a passion for building and development – how we live shapes lives and livelihoods,” Musella says. “I love having a positive impact on the creation of place through the public affairs work that we do for our clients.”

Through his firm, Musella works with community groups, government representatives and grassroots organizations to shape public opinion and gain project approvals.

“Knowing that our work allows families to own homes, live well and create wealth is something that I am most proud of in my career,” Musella says. “Moving public opinion on the creation of housing policies and the support for development projects creates generational change and positive impacts. It’s a privilege to do this work.”

Musella has been profiled by Angeleno magazine as one of their 2019, Modern Man, leaders for his work in the real estate development industry. Further, he was highlighted in Los Angeles Confidential magazine 2017 Portraits of Pride as an influential leader in the LGBTQ+ community.

A regional business leader, Musella currently serves as the Immediate Past Chair of the Los Angeles County Business Federation (LA BizFed) and on the boards of the Building Industry Association of Southern California LA/Ventura Chapter and the Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation. He has previously served as Vice President of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) LA Chapter and on the Board of Directors for PVJOBS, a Los Angeles non-profit which places at-risk individuals in construction related employment opportunities.
