Steve Getzug is a longtime PR professional and former journalist who successfully develops and implements strategies that advance his clients’ personal and business communications goals. He is the founder of Getzug Strategic LLC in Los Angeles.

Steve’s experiences as a reporter, editor, media coach, communications strategist and public relations executive influence the storytelling, positioning and issues management he provides in times of crisis and calm to CEOs, CCOs and other senior business leaders.

At Getzug Strategic, Steve supports clients across industries in myriad ways – from producing annual sustainability reports for a leading cybersecurity company to providing media relations and consumer positioning for a major US wood products manufacturer. He is a trusted partner for law firms and communications agencies, including The Wolcott Group.

Before building his own business, Steve managed a strong team delivering executive communications support to the CEO and other business leaders at AECOM. A Fortune 300 global infrastructure firm, AECOM delivers design, engineering and construction management services across the clean energy, water, transportation, goods movement, and facilities sectors.

Steve previously held leadership roles at H+K Strategies and Fleishman-Hillard, both international public relations agencies, where he supported clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies and top academic institutions to utilities and business associations. At H+K, Steve provided media support for the Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) during the 2008 and 2014 labor negotiations.

Steve’s journalism career included reporting and editing assignments at leading newspapers in Wyoming, Colorado and California, including the Los Angeles Daily News. He has lectured at the USC Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism.
